A Dilemma: The Dichotomy in Motivational Patterns

Had a little bit of a thought that has been taking shape the last few days… mostly be asking the question, what motivates me? or what motivates you?
I suppose there is a giant amount of information on this topic, I could totally go to boarders and get a entire shelf of books on how this stuff happens. But seriously, everything aside
What motivates you?
There was just a small little bit of something that I found interesting in this motivational discussion. I realized that in my personal thinking pattern, I am mostly motivated by thinking about the future. I am motivated by making goals for the future and working at trying to realize them, and I am motivated by thinking about stuff in the future that sounds fun or cool or exciting.
Then I was wondering why I am not motivated by things happening in the present. Is there a toughness in the present that makes me try to realize for the future? Is my personality one that has more of a inclination to envisioning for the future?
Is there importance by being motivated both by the present and the future?
I suppose that what really matters isn’t as much what truly motivates me as much… but what motivates others? and is the true connection of motivation happening… is the motivation impacting the present?
So, what motivates you?
And here is the real kicker, that my heart and spirit are digging into now… what does scripture have to say about motivation and its patterns?
