This is one of the coolest things I have seen in a while… and in honor of the day after thanks­giv­ing its appro­pri­ate to write about super cool things. It should be well known that I am a pretty huge fan of buzz word phe­nom­ena e.g. (social media, social inno­va­tion, now­ism, etc.) when there is a con­glom­er­ate of buzz words mak­ing up a giant descrip­tion… I lost con­trol.  This is a con­glom­er­ate of buzz words describ­ing a new work­space in Dubai

“The Shel­ter is a first of its kind com­mu­nity work­space that allows indi­vid­u­als from var­i­ous cre­ative dis­ci­plines to engage in an envi­ron­ment that nur­tures entre­pre­neur­ial small busi­nesses. The Shel­ter is a medium for for­ward thinkers, cre­atives and intel­lec­tu­als to con­nect and exchange ideas; con­vert­ing those inter­ac­tions into com­mer­cial ser­vices and prod­ucts through sub­si­dized work spaces.”

The inno­va­tor him­self, Bai­ley Busch, and I had a bit of an idea to make some kind of space just like this a few months back.  More so for our own enjoy­ment of being in a room that fos­ters cre­ativ­ity and inno­va­tion, but would sim­ply the need for col­lab­o­ra­tive idea pad’s and work-flows.

This place looks sim­ply awesome.

It seems like this sort of envi­ron­ment that helps feed the re-urbanization hap­pen­ing in such a large scale right now, will be much more pop­u­lar in years to come.  A pub­lic place like this to meet at instead of a cof­fee shop or lunch deli would be enthralling.

So, any­body want to help make one of these in Orlando? San Diego maybe?
